EOC Week 9: Three Great Mission Statements

A good business mission statement can determine how well your product, or products sell in the marketplace.  Most of them never change. They serve as a filter to separate what is important from what is not.  I’ve chose three statements from my classmates, which I believe are effective and comprehensible.
Sean Corcoran’s( http://seansshowings.blogspot.com/ )mission statement for his new snack, The Asado Tire Crackers,  is persuasive, and very descriptive.  It quickly attracts your attention by letting the consumer know they are in for something unique and exciting when they buy this product. He uses great adjectives to describe his snack, and promises a memorable experience.
Victor Camarillo @ http://vegasvicphoto.blogspot.com/  statement is short, but to the point.  He doesn’t use a lot of big words or offer an elaborate story to promote his product. The marketing text mentions that jargon mission statements often confusing and misleading. Victor states that his product uses premium ingredients and will be on your mind the whole time.  Those two statements makes me want to go out and buy the snacks right now.  I also think he has a catchy name for his product.
I think Alexandria Espinoza @ http://xandriamariefashion.blogspot.com/  has a great business mission statement too.  She challenge consumers  to take part of the  adventure  and the  experience of Spain. Alexandria uses words like exotic and mystery to entice every adult to buy her snacks.  She also offers other flavors for you to  look forward to and enjoy. Her statement feels right, and seems like a great marketing tool for the Phineas Fogg brand.

Week 8 EOC Creative Content

There are many ways to show creative content for my new meat snack, Bangkok Bites. I am a DFVP student so commercials or storyboarding would be an ideal way to get my product out their. I figured other DFVP students would jump on those mediums, so I decided to do something I hope will be a little different. I chose to create a product ad to display my tasty meaty treats.
Bangkok Bites are Thai flavored chicken jerky treats that go great with beer at bars and parties. They will be circular in shape and will come in a 6 oz zip lock plastic bag. My ad will show Phileas Fogg in his flying  balloon crossing over Thailand and eating the treats. Instead of a hot air balloon, it will be a tasty Bangkok Bite that is fueling Phileas through the skies. The ad will also show its nutrient facts and high in protein content on the front of the package. Made in Thailand will be shown in bold letters.  I want everyone to know they are getting something exotic. I will also display other available flavors  on the ad like original, peppered, and hot teriyaki.
Bangkok Bites will also come in a form of chicken bars. They will be perfect for on–the-go snacks.  In the top right hand corner of the ad, their will be a price of $1.99. I will stress that you will be getting more BANG for your buck. I will use red, white, and blue for the product and the ad. Ironically their national flag has the same colors as United States. I think that can be a great marketing tool for those who really believe in the red, white, and blue.  I believe showing my product this way will excite adults to purchase these meaty treats.

Week 8 BOC: The Adventure

                                                    Week 8 BOC The Adventure

I the Great  Phileas Fogg have landed in Bangkok, Thailand to study the mysteries of the Temple of the Reclining Buddha. While looking at this enormous landmark, I witness a group of Monks praying to the Buddha. Not taking what they are doing seriously, I made a joke about  the reasons why Buddhist not  great Blues guitarists is because they have no soul. One of the Monks got mad and yelled out "Khxng phraphuththcea kha khea," which means "In the name of Buddha, kill him!" The Monks all got up and chase me through the temple shooting and throwing Chinese Stars. As I was running across the courtyard, I purposely knocked over fruit stand and vendors tables. I took a shortcut through an alley, and dip into a Thai food restaurant. The aroma coming from the kitchen made me hungry. Hiding under one of the prep tables, I grabbed a piece of Thai flavored chicken and put it in my pocket. As soon as I did it, one of the Monks seen me and and took a swing at my head. I duck and push him on the stove and a piece of his robe caught on fire. I immediately ran out the restaurant, and found myself by a nearby harbor. I tired to jump in one of the boats, miscalculated, and fell into the water. I knew that the monks were hot on my trail, so I held my breath as log as I could under water until they past.
I got out the water and went to a unique business where a lady dry clothes by fanning them in front of a coal fiery pit.The drying process was a complete success. I went across the street to a saloon to treat myself to a cold beer. As I gulped down my refreshing beer, I remembered the piece of Thai chicken I had put in my pocket. I reached into my pocket and pulled out the dried up piece, and took a bite. To my surprise, it was delicious. It went great with my beer. I thought to myself, I should come up with a new snack that goes great with beer and will represents my adventure in Bangkok. I will called them Thai Chicken Flavored Bangkok Bites. It will be fantastic.

Week 7 EOC The Pitch

My world travel adventure is coming close to an end, but I feel the excitement has just begun. My hot air balloon travel has taken me to the Great Pyramids of Giza, the Taj Mahal, and now the Temple of the Reclining Buddha in Bangkok.
The Wat Pho or the Temple of the Reclining Buddha is the largest temple in Bangkok, so it attracts a lot of tourist and religious groups. I had decided to stay five more minutes, then I would go get a bite to eat. I suddenly witness a group of what appeared to be Asian Monks kneeling and praying to the enormous Buddha image.  Knowing that most monks are forbidden to speak because of their religious beliefs, I begin to make fun of them. I tap one of the Monks on the shoulder and said, “Why are there no good Buddhist blues guitarists?” One of the guys stop praying and looked at me with an evil smile. I replied, “ because they have no soul.” and laugh. What I didn’t know was these guys were former Triad gangsters and they took their religion seriously. One Monk pulled a gun from his robe and yelled out  “Ni chux Khxng phraphuththcea kha khea,” which means “In the name of Buddha. Kill him!” and they started chasing me. Since I’m the great world traveler Phileas Fogg, I took off running. I’ve never harmed anybody in my life.  I pushed tourist out the way , knock over fruit stands, and  hop over cars trying to escape. The Monks shot at me numerous times, but missed.  I ran into a Thai restaurant called Sai Chol.  The aroma of the food was breath taking. Hungry as I was, I took a piece of the Thai chicken off a plate and put it in my pocket. One of the Monks saw me and I ran out the restaurant. I jumped into a nearby river, and held my breath. Not knowing I was under water, the Monks walked right pass me, and started looking the other direction. I got out of the water,  went inside a laundry mat, and put my pants in the dryer.  My stomach started to growl, and I remembered about the chicken I put in my pants. I quickly took my pants out the dryer, and pulled out the dried up Thai chicken breast.  I took a bite out of the small piece of meat, and it was very tasty. I thought to myself, this would make a great snack. I returned to Sai Chol to hopefully get the permission and the recipe to the chef’s tasty Thai chicken.  I pitched the ideal to him and said, ‘If we could come to an  agreement, we could name the snack Phileas Fogg’s Delicious Bangkok Bites and make millions.” He agreed, and the rest was history.

Week 6 EOC ME X 3

                                                     Week 6 E.O.C ME X 3

Ever so often, many people may buy an item either because it is expensive or valuable. We tend to
purchase things that help define ourselves and bring us joy. Three items I feel help define me is my Rolex watch, white Gucci loafers, and my Sony NEX-EA50UH professional camcorder. These things mean a lot to me, not because they are pricey, but because they represent my personality and me as an artist.
As long as I can remember, I have been always fascinated with Swiss made time pieces. So I decided as soon as I got enough money, I was going to buy one. My watch of choice was the Rolex Datejust. I chose this watch because it was elegant and stylish like myself. The time piece isn't over the top with  lots of diamonds and gold. It makes a statement that says "hey I'm here; acknowledge me as a contender or as a professional." The Robb Report once had an article that stated "that you can tell a lot about a person just by looking at their watch."

My white Gucci loafers shows that I am very fashionable and I care about my appearance. A nice expensive pair of shoes gives me self-confidence and the motivation I need to continue to do well in school. I know if I keep my grades up, I will find a high paying career that will allow me to continue to buy nice things when I get out in the field.

Purchasing my own $3600.00 HD camcorder shows that I am very serious in the field that I am pursuing. I am able to shoot professional looking videos as well as edit them outside of school. I am one with my camera. It allows me to sharpen my skills on framing, composition, and camera angles. I don't know what I would do with out it.
